Oh, The Hunger Games was THE book to talk about in my YA Lit class last quarter. Everybody read it. And raved about it. If you liked it, also try How I Live Now by Meg Rosoff (if you haven't already)--same post-apocalyptic feel to it.

Neal Schusterman's Unwind was also pretty popular but I didn't like it too much, but that's more due to my personal phobias getting way the hell activated by it than anything integral to the book itself - basically it's about a future society in which there's been a brutal civil war between pro-choice and pro-life forces, and the compromise that's been reached is that abortion is totally and completely illegal, but between the ages of 14-18 a parent can send their child to be "unwound", to be organ-donated in their entirety but still be "alive, but in a dissociated state." Creepy as all fuck as it follows three kids who've been scheduled for unwinding for three different reasons, and how they try to escape it.

And yes, I look far more forward to calling you Dr. than I do to appending any other honorific to your name.
