I Was Born 47 Years Ago

It's been a nice day in spite of most of it being spent at work. My assistant brought me a bath and body works soap and a loaf of homemade pumpkin chocolate chip bread. I went to dinner with my middle boy and his girlfriend. We had burritos and beer at the local Cantina. We then went to our favorite candy store "Goody's" We got turtles, dark chocolate covered seafoam and jelly belly's for my husband. He couldn't be with us. My daughter left me a very beautiful card and a Hyacinth scented manicure set on the coffee table. My son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter called and sang to me. My friend Jeri called and sang to me. I got lots of "wall posts" on facebook and even some private messages. These all touched me very much. It has been a very nice birthday overall. I am glad to be alive and healthy. I am glad to be blessed with so many precious gifts. I even got pulled over this afternoon on my way home from work. I went something like this:

Me: "Uh, Hi, is this an OK place to park?"

Officer: "Yeah, It's as good as any around here."

((I am hurriedly pulling my license out of my wallet. It is stuck and no matter how hard I pull it is not coming out without a fight.))

Officer: "Maam, do you know how fast you were going?"

Me: Looking sorry, "No."

Officer: "Well, you were coming onto the connector at 67 and at your highest speed you were going 70. It's a 55 mph zone"

Me: slight gasp, "Wow, really, 70???? Oh, jeez, I am usually so good about staying under the speed limit."

Officer: I noticed you were on the cell phone.

Me: Pulling out all the stops now: This is true by the way, "Oh It's my birthday today. I don't usually answer the phone when I'm driving but my son called to wish me a Happy Birthday."

Officer: "Well now, no one should get a ticket on their birthday." "Take it easy now and slow it down a little."

It took about 3 minutes tops to get back on the road.
Yes it has been a pretty good day:)
