I haven't packed a box since last week. Am I going to hell, cause this place is only half way packed, and we're hitting the road in 8 days...8 days, eh? Now that you put it that way, hmm...We've been so so busy tying up lose ends that we haven't had much time to pack. And today, well today I'm exhausted, for 2 reasons really: 1) I went to bed way too late yesterday (as so happens when you have a day off in the middle of the week--it confuses you!) & 2) My boss has decided that I no longer need to be in my classroom so she's sending me all over the school. For example, today I spent all morning with the 4-5 year olds, the first half of the afternoon with the toddlers, and the last 2 hours of the day in my classroom, in which I was by myself. Really? Don't you think I would like to spend my remaining time with my kids, whom I adore? Besides the fact that I have to finish the classroom portfolio for the
NAEYC accreditation before I leave. You should be glad that I'm taking the initiative and not leaving you high and dry, ms boss lady! Ugh have i mentioned yet how toxic that place is? 5 more days there....The letter went out yesterday to the parents that I was leaving. They're all so bummed, and some are talking about pulling their kids out because I'll be gone (well that and the tuition is being increased). But really you never know how much you are truly appreciated until you have to leave. I kinda wish the parents would share that with us on a more regular basis. It would certainly off set what we get from ms boss lady every day! 8 days till I get to be my own boss lady! Woot!
I took yesterday off, originally to visit the free museums at
Balboa park. They are on a rotating schedule in which every Tuesday 2-3 of them are free to southern cal residents. Pretty sweet deal if you ask me. Tony and I checked out the natural history museum and the science museum. While we were there, we snapped some peculiar pictures of Zach's "
Flat Stanley" which was a lot fun, and kinda took away from the museum experience, but that's ok. It will be worth it when we send them back to the little guy. After I get the project put together I'll try to get them posted, but we all know how bad at this I am. Although, I have to say I was a little disappointed at how lacking the museums were in content. I know they're limited in space, i mean that park is crowded with museums, parking lots, and the "world famous" zoo, but I guess I was expecting more. I really wanted to visit the museum of art, but ms boss lady wouldn't let me have that day off back in march. Anyway, I got a lot done yesterday that I can't get done on the weekends. I got my annual pap done (2 years late), received my fist
Gardasil injection, which I highly recommend to all my chicas under the age of 26. I also got my car registered, after a 2 hour wait at the DMV. I'm so bitter that my tags expired in March when were moving April 11th to portland, and I'm pretty sure California is the only state that doesn't offer any kind of extension or grace period. Grr. We also sold our patio set and paint ball gun/gear yesterday. What a productive day even if we lacked any packing action.
Even though our life sits mostly in boxes right now, it hasn't hit me that were moving or I'm leaving my job or any of that. I don't feel as though its really happening. Everyone keeps asking me if I'm excited, and right now, right now I don't feel excited in the least. I did, before, but right now I'm just so over whelmed.
oh, and I'm stuck on this lady:
Kate Nash.
