A little more frenquent

I've been really moody this weekend.  A bit odd considering I just finished my second period in a row (woo hoo). Which reminds me, I really need to make a gyno appt now that I have health insurance. I am a very lucky woman to have a man who handles my mood swings so gracefully.

I've decided to get my life (and home and car and work) organized.  I've been thoroughly inspired after reading Organizing Junkie's and The Lazy Organizer's blogs.  I've already dipped my big toe in the water.  I really wish I had thought to do "before and after" photos, well ok I could still do after, but my card is full and I'm lazy.  But believe me when I say my book case, hall cabinet, and dvd rack look tons better.  I also reorganized placement of the desk/couch/telescope and amps in our living so it flowed better.  We no longer stumble over or jab our ribs with the telescope which was placed (as much as you can) against the wall between the openings to the kitchen and the bed/bath.  The desk is now there and the telescope moved to the farthest corner of the living room, previously where the desk was.  I pushed the couch down, which makes it a little closer to the tv.  Anyway, I really like how it turned and enjoy a less cramped placement.  My next tackles include the pantry, fridge, kitchen table/tv stand (one in the same), bathroom drawer, patio, and our entire bedroom.  I also bought a larger basket to hold all of our game controllers.  It's amazing how one simple thing can make you feel so good (and make your room look that much more organized and clean)!  Now if I could just be a little more diligent about actually cleaning our home!

Speaking of cleaning...the family I babysat for last night just up and gave me this.  How kind were they?  They had since purchased a scooba and no longer had a need for it. I gave it a test run today on my kitchen floor.  For the most part it did the job.  Unfortunately my cabinets sit too low for the machine to fit under them with enough room for suction and scrubbing.  I believe my cabinets are not of the norm, living in a "craftsmen" home.  Embarrassingly, my floor was too filthy for a once around, the little pad got too dirty halfway through and the second pad they gave me needed to be washed. If I'm up for it, I might go another round tomorrow night, that is after I make a big dent in our massive pile(s) of dirty dishes.  I was really excited about this machine.  It was going to be at the top of my xmas wish list, but now that I have it, I'm glad I nor my family had to spend money on it.  Maybe it will do better on the hardwood floors.  I wanted it in hopes I would be willing to clean more often.  Sweeping and mopping our floors is such a tedious task considering we don't have carpet in any room.

Between my grandmother, mom, sister, and I, we are very "crafty" people who yearn for DIY projects.  So accordingly the majority of my wedding will be DIY.  I picked out this pattern for Victoria's flower girl dress.  It's so cute!  I'm really excited about it.  I haven't picked the fabric colors yet, but my sister is rearing and ready to sew this thing.  Which also means, no cost to me.  God I love the women in my family.  Speaking of which, my mom is sewing my dress.  Unfortunately I'm having one hell of a time finding a pattern I absolutely love.  Since we're still about 18 months out, I'm hoping *crosses fingers* that more patterns will come out as we get closer.  I really don't want her to start working on it until I've had time chance to lose some weight.  I'm at the biggest I've ever been, yet I'm finding it so hard to find the motivation to change that fact.  I finally broke down and bought 2 pairs of pants that actually fit (that meant going a couple sizes up).  As painful as that was, it's nice to have something other than sweat pants and elastic skirts to wear to work.  I think i might ask for a gym membership for xmas.  Maybe curves or 24 hr fitness?  I'd be willing to make the monthly payments if the membership were paid for.  But I am incapable of paying that much for one thing for myself.  I fear my mood swings may be an affect of my tummy issues.

Am I a nerd for also asking for a label maker?
