I really should be sleeping at this hour...

Whew!  Only one family at work lost their home in the fire, who just so happens to be in my class.  Fathoming such a loss is mind boggling.  I couldn't begin to imagine losing everything.  Monday was relatively calm considering the kids were out of their routine for a week.  However, Tuesday hit like a tornado, as 2 itty-bitties, whose mothers thought it best to ease them into the program 2 hrs a week for the first few weeks, decided noon was the perfect time to do so.  By 2 pm, when I finally got to leave the room for lunch, all 8 of my children were screaming, because the newbies were so time consuming.  It took me an hour each to calm down, feed, and nap each of them.  And when it was all said and done, they were awake because they apparently aren't ever placed in cribs to sleep, and the others neglected.  Meanwhile Chrissie is at lunch leaving me with the floater, a super slow and confused woman, who takes 10 minutes to change a diaper.  Girl, I can change, wipe down the table, have my hands washed, and record in 2 minutes flat.  That's right, I rock at my job. ;)  Except when brand new mothers caudal their child at the slightest whimper.  Needless to say Friday could not have come any sooner.

If anyone hasn't heard the news yet, Anthony and I are engaged!  To celebrate our 1 year anniversary (Oct 15), we decided to go up to Julian the Sunday before (Oct 14), which is a small mountain town to the east of us that is known for their apple orchards and pies. On the way up we decided to stop at a trail head and take a hike. The one we chose went past Cuyamaca Lake. About a mile in we stopped on an old red bridge over looking the area. I turned to face him after checking out the view and the next thing I know, Anthony is down on one knee, asking me to be his wife. It was beautiful, perfect and by far the sweetest moment of my life.  The ring, formally my mother's, is a quarter carat, round cut with a simple white gold band.  Though small, it is a beautiful diamond and fits me perfectly.  My wedding band will be my grandmother's 25th wedding anniversary band.  It's platinum with 4 quarter karat round cut in bedded.

After much debate, and resetting, we have decided to be married 18 April 2009.  I want a spring wedding, and since his brother is expecting baby Layone in February and his dad is unable to help us until after May, we decided for next spring.  It is also important to note the previous plans we had to move to Portland this spring have also been pushed back, as it turns out Dave had some communication issues with his wife about me caring for their child.  Apparently she had another person in mind.  Thanks Dave.  Although I do have to say I am very much relieved that we are no longer under so much pressure to move so soon.  Tony hit a bump in the career road was making half of his normal salary for 3 minutes.  But things are beginning to work themselves out and he has officially started his own pool business after paying for his business license.  Anyone in need of professional pool services?  He's your guy!  (Well, technically, he's mine, but you can burrow him for his pool expertise ;))

So nobody told me planning a wedding was just as much tedious as it is exciting.  The first couple of weeks were a little bumpy, but we've been agreeing on many things lately, especially the music, and I ran the IPOD DJ thing by him, and he was into it.  I just feel it would save a minimum of 800$ to do it this way.  It will be a job handed off to someone in the wedding party, no doubt.  We debated about home many bridesmaids/groomsmen, and have settled on 5 (MOH Artemis, Ashley, Becky, my sister and step-sister; BM Dave, Rich, Brad, Jeromy, and Nando), along with 2 ushers (my step brother and his cousin, Curtis, 1 flower girl and ring bearer (Zach and Toria, of course!), and a guest book attendant (Kara).  Only 3 of my bridesmaids have been notified, though I'm sure my sister has figured out she's one as well, but I really want to make a little something to officially ask them to be so.  My mom is making my dress, my sister is making Toria's, and the girls are picking out their own.  I'm trying really hard not to fall into that whole "bridezilla" trap and I want them to be comfortable.  Each of these beautiful woman are made differently and I don't want any unhappiness on this very special day.  I would like Craig to be our officiant, but Anthony has a few, understandable, hang ups about it.  Hopefully meeting each other will ease this a bit.  I have to prepare myself though, for the possibility that it might not work out how I'd like it to.

Alright, enough wedding banter, time for sleep!
