Too busy
I thought I’d try NaNoMoWri this year but honestly haven’t had the time and haven’t felt much like writing. I do, however, think I’ll work on the story I did for NaNo a few years ago and put that up. It’ll make me feel accomplished if nothing else. It’s the RoLo fairy tale of sorts, more of a fantasy I suppose. I really want to get something finished and posted and this is finished just needs tweaking. I just think, for me, November is an awful month to write a 50,000 word story.
My mother’s birthday is on the 4th, my son’s on the 14th and then there’s Thanksgiving. After I got back from vacation I had to finish planning a weekend long celebration for my mother who just turned 70. I have to say I pulled it off smartly but oh how I struggled at first. My brother, her favorite child, lives in Atlanta and I’d wanted to fly him up, found an excellent deal online. The only problem was he stopped responding to my e-mails because he was out on the road. His job is setting up for a lot of music groups as well as for events like the Super Bowl so I know he was busy and he needs a new laptop but not knowing for certain if he was coming meant I wasn’t going to buy a ticket. In the end he rode the bus up but he had a good trip and a good visit.
My mother didn’t even recognize him which is so funny. My sister said it’s because she still sees him as a little boy in her mind. But we had a great time, cake, ice cream and champagne for three nights in a roll, a nice lunch at her favorite place and the next day a really good dinner at the Golden Lamb in Lebanon, OH. It’s the oldest restaurant in Ohio and she really likes it. I had venison with truffles and loved it, loved it so much we’re going back during the Xmas holidays. She got flowers galore, presents, cards of course, candy and as many people as I could get came for the first cake and ice cream celebration. I really, really felt good after that long weekend but I had no time to write or get online but maybe now I’m back on track. Sorry to any who I didn't get back to sooner, I'll be able to get caught up tomorrow! Will also try to get a picuture or two up but they're so large in photo bucket!
