Baby Update

Last tuesday I had the 32 weeks ultrasound.
Rodri STILL wasn't convinced that the baby was indeed a girl and, half serious and half joking, told me several times that he was going to ask the ob/gyn if he was really, REALLY sure of the gender. LOL. He feared that we would have to return to the stores all the beautiful pink, lavender, flowery and delicate little things we've bought for Connie so far... not to mention the soft lilac paint we bought to paint her room. "They're not going to let us return the paint!" he said. "It's a special blend!"
My poor amore... I think in the bottom of his heart he still hoped for a little boy... But, luckily for me (and for the lilac paint!) the doctor confirmed it's a healthy little princess. ^_^
"And she's big for her age!" Doc added, with a big grin promptly shared by Rodri. Of course they can smile, since they're not the ones who will have to give birth to the big healthy girl! I more or less grimaced at these news. XD
So far, she's 44 centimeters tall (I think that will be... 1.4 feet? I'm not really sure if that makes sense, I had to use an online converter...) and she weights a little more than 2 kilos (4.4 pounds?). Not bad at all for a 32 weeks old baby!!
And I'm not doing bad AT ALL. I've only gained 4 kilos (8.8 pounds) in the ENTIRE pregnancy! Kudos to me. Yeah, I'm feeling pretty proud of me and my daughter.
So, in short, were both doing great! Now comes the final part of these nine months (wow, time really flies... it seems like it was just few weeks ago that I announced my pregnancy on this LJ!).
Connie's due in december 28th, but Doc said that it's very likely that she will arrive earlier... so we're kinda expecting her by december 15th. That's JUST A LITTLE OVER A MONTH!! *faints*
This time, in the ultrasound, we were able to see her face clearly for the first time. I've always thought these 3D ultrasounds were really creepy (Rodri agreed), but now that I look at Connie's face I tend to think that they ARE creepy... except when it's YOUR baby you're looking at. XDXDXD.
Doc said she looks more like me than Rodri ("that's perfectly fine", Rodri said, "why would I want a daughter that looks like a man??" LOL, I married a comediant!!). I can't really see any resemblance... except that she has Rodri's lips and... OMG, she's cursed with HER MOTHER'S CHEEKS! We call it "the Yáñez cheeks". My sibilings and nephews have them, this kind of round, full cheeks that are made for old aunts and relatives to pinch them. Well, if I endured it, my two sisters and my brother endured it and my nephews still endures it... I guess Connie will have to do it too. ^_^;; Bad luck, little one! XDXD
