Oh, I stopped watching Bones because I'm following too many series and this year I wasn't pleased with the writing. Like at all. But hey, reading this I kinda miss it!
It appears that he's buried the feelings deep inside to protect himself and adopted "I've moved on; I don't love her" as a mantra in order to deal.

It's definitely worth giving it another shot! I mostly drop series when I stop seeing reasoning behind characters' behaviours ("TPTB did it because they could/for the ratings", that kind of stuff), and it's definitely not the case in Bones.

Neither Booth in the 100th, or Brennan in 6x09, actually said they were in love. I kinda like that it's known between them even if they haven't said it.
No more "what goes on between us is ours"; no more drinks after cases together. When was the last time they had a meaningful conversation about their beliefs? Hannah said she didn't want to affect Brennan's friendship with Booth, and yet that's exactly what happened.THIS. So much. Things have changed. I miss the drinks after cases especially

Yes! It also reminded me of the books when Ryan shows up on Brennan's doorstep and says that the break-up was a mistake. I've always loved Brennan's thought process there. "Did I love him? Pain has a way of wearing love down." At the same time, the love was never obliterated completely; too much meaningful history together. I think it's kind of what has happened with Booth. It's like he's built up a massive wall to protect himself from getting burned again and vowed to stick with it no matter what happens.
I kinda like that it's known between them even if they haven't said it.
I really like that as well. I've always hoped he knew she didn't reject him because she didn't have feelings for him, and we got a confirmation that he does in this episode. Nice.
I loved Sweets singing, but I'm still hoping we'll get to see him sing karaoke one day!
Me too! JFD has too good of a singing voice to waste it on out-of-breath sing-alongs. :D
I'm honestly not sure if the belt buckle etc. was only in this episode or if it happened before. I only noticed it now but, honestly, I haven't been paying attention. I'll keep a look out as I'm rewatching the season so far at the moment.

I loved that Booth in the end just plain out told Hannah (but then again, I'm crazy, and I kind of really like Hannah). I agree on the tenses, though; it's gotta mean something that he used present tense with Sweets, but tried to lessen the impact by using past tense with Hannah.
I really like the friendship between Hannah and Brennan. I think it's easier for Brennan 'cause Hannah is one of the few people who is able to communicate with her. I don't think she sees Booth over Hannah's shoulder, I think she just sees a friend.
6. Hodgins never removed his "Angie" tatoo! I'm pretty impressed with that continuity detail, actually!

Angela has an uncanny way of explaining human psychology to Brennan in a way that she simply rolls with. ;) I love how she's able to handle that; how she can put human psychology in the kind of boxes and schemes that Brennan is used to with her scientific background!
Yeah, I don't think Brennan sees Booth in Hannah, either. Though I do believe that Booth's avoidance offends her. "He'll have drinks with you when you come home." Like as long as he has them, the company is not important...

Bones is actually pretty good w/ continuity details. Another good example is Brennan's mother's dolphin ring.
I've loved that aspect of Angela & Brennan since day one when Angela told her that people are mostly soft. Their conversations are always so well written! :)

Idk all the other fandom responses are depressing me so much lately so reading this makes it a little better at least. >> I would say coherent things but my brain is sort of shutting down after three days of next to no sleep soooo maybe not right now. But yeah just basically, everything you just said. A whole lot and then some.
IS THIS SOME SORT OF CONSPIRACY TO MAKE SURE I NEVER GET BACK TO POSTING LJ BECAUSE I DO NOT APPRECIATE IT ;O;
But yeah I'm pretty sure I'm just going to bunk out here and with the two or three other people I know who seem to see things in a way that does not make me want to chuck heavy machinery at their heads! Fandom is supposed to be my happy place so haters should really know better *shakes fist* Especially when the show in question is actually doing a pretty good job at portraying things realistically BUT HEY, WHO CARES ABOUT REALISM WHEN YOU COULD JUST SKIP ALL THAT AND GET TO THE BIT WHERE THEY MAKE OUT AND EVERYTHING IS HAPPY AND NONSENSICAL. Idek why these people still watch, it would save everyone the pain if they didn't :D
