It isn't unusual to wake to her eyes on him. It was one of Luna's strange and vaguely unsettling quirks, and just like the others, he'd learned to live with it.
So, when he opened his eyes that morning, for a moment, he noticed nothing out of the ordinary. He sighed, the sound of it almost a huff of laughter, rubbing a hand across his blurry eyes, and then froze...
She'd been hovering over him, hadn't she?
His eyes popped open and he let out a startled yelp, popping upright in bed and gaping at his girlfriend suspended from the ceiling above.
"What the bloody hell are you doing up there?" he asked, his voice a bit shrill for his liking.
"Apart from being startled awake by you dangling over my head like an insect, no, I feel just as I did last night," he said, with a bit of a frown, then, he asked, "What the bloody hell else would it be?"
The same type of magic the island always gave them. Random, uncontrollable and fleeting.
"It doesn't feel like regular magic," Luna agrees. She plants her feet more firmly on the ceiling, and then straightens, so that she's standing, her hair tickling the pillow next to him.

She reaches down to see if she can touch him from here.
"Do you think it's magic?"

"I'm not sure what to call it, really."
