Well then

Guess what, I got a teaching job. I signed my contract Monday. I haven't go the keys to my classroom yet but I do have meetings set up for the second week of July. I have  new teacher Orientation some time next month too. So I graduate the 11 of August. My parents might come down some time before then and stay a week after. And My grand parents will come a few days before the 11th and stay a week after too. Then, on August 20th I will start. Thats right hardly time to get my diploma and I will already be teaching. The people at the college of education said I would have a hard time finding or even getting a job, what do they know.

I want to decorate my room with some kind of theme. And every year I want to change the them of my room. So what is something that low income kids can identify with and still reflects something to do with literature? Nothing too cheesy. A girl at the drive in said she wanted to help decorate my room with me, but we haven't decided what to decorate. I have the floor plan roughly sketched out as to where the desks and things will go. And I know I want lots of books shelves and a couch in one corner for those days where we need to catch up on work. I know I want to fill the book cases with good books, they kind you want to read over and over again. I know I want some type of area with all of the extra supplies for the kids. I know I want to be very organized and I want everything to go smoothly the first few days of school. I have a lot of work to do.

I still have to write a few papers for my last ever English class and then I will be done with undergrad. I want to slowly start taking graduate night classes and get a masters in English and I want to finish my French degree and become certified to teach French. Then someday I want to move back up to Washington and do whatever there is to do up there. Before I teach French though, I want to go to a French speaking country and dive into another culture  and take it all in. I want to learn French from the native like I have learned to handle Republicans here in Texas. (I have a good tolerance built up for fanatics after living here for so long.) I hope  I'll be able to  go to London too, but I can;t be too greedy.

If anyone has any suggestions as to what theme I should decorate my classroom, or any book suggestions for my students...feel free to let m know. Think of the things you read in high school that really opened your minds.
