General Busy-ness
Three nights left of the run and I'll have my evenings back, hah! It's going very well, and I'm having a great time, but we're in direct competition with the area's long-time community theater group putting on a production of The Music Man. Their tickets are cheaper and people know the show, so that's the choice they're making. Damn. I've said it for years...why don't the general managers of all the summer theater outlets in the region meet in the late fall and coordinate schedules, production titles, resources and talent? That way there's no competition for audiences, titles, actors and musicians, or press. Instead, these people all sit in their respective places and bitch about the evil of one another and refuse to see and encourage each others' work, or to share resources like costumes, props and set pieces. Geez, I THOUGHT we were all about creating a vibrant and successful fine arts community, end of story. I'm afraid that if we actually sat them around the same table, Armageddon would ensue. Egomaniacal twits.
Life isn't made of much right now except work, the theater, and the little bit of sleep I get in between, which is why I haven't been around much. I can make a quick update on Facebook, but LJ takes a bit more time and thought. A shout out to all the flister sisters. I'll try to do some catching up when I'm off the treadmill.
