Hey look, more snow!

Today (Friday, as I’m writing this after midnight Saturday) was windy, really windy. On the way home following a stop at Safeway to pick-up dinner ingredients it started snowing. Of course I left the windows open, the snow wasn’t coming down that hard. As Jessica and I were cleaning the kitchen I looked outside and saw the backyard covered in snow with the patio concrete beginning to turn white. This is the type of snow I love; I loathe the snow we had in December and early January.

I finally finished my review Friday afternoon. Rating me is difficult. I know my capabilities, proficiencies, and deficiencies yet giving myself a score only prove that I’m hard on myself and my management knows it. There’s a section in the review where I describe results to performance expectations; I know what I did, my management knows what I did, yet having to recall and describe those results from 260 days out of last year is truly a lesson in futility and recollection. It’s done, now I just need to document (based upon my father’s suggestion) on a week by week basis what I’ve done and will do throughout this year to aide in next years review.

Somehow I was stressed earlier this evening, as if my depression and anxiety were acting up again. When I got home I drank a glass of water, made dinner, and played with the kids and everything I was feeling seemed to disappear. Could it be all the Diet Coke I drink throughout the day? Maybe it’s the caffeine or one of the countless other chemicals contained in the soda? I’m going to eliminate soda this week and see if it helps. Here come the withdrawals.
