Maxis 'Makeover' and :(
I needed something to occupy my time today, so I ended up exploring more of Belladonna Cove. I made over Jessica Peterson, who lives in the Main Street Mobile Homes, and whom I actually really like. :D
I figure she could have gotten the paintings from her ex-husband's daughter at some point during the marriage. :P
This guy was just as excited about the playground equipment as she was.
It doesn't really match her personality at all, and I'm not much of a decorator, but I had fun putting everything together. :)
Now, some non-Sim related stuff which, I warn you, is mainly me ranting and worrying:
1. I work at a campground that's run by the town during the summers. We have about 25 seasonal residents, all retirees, that bring in their RVs and motorhomes and stay in the campground from about May to October. This is my second year back, and my coworkers and I have gotten to know the seasonals all pretty well. One of the seasonals, Mrs W, had to be rushed to the hospital today- it was either due to her mixing her medications (...) or to a complication with her diabetes, her family wasn't sure. Her one daughter met her at the hospital but neglected to tell the other daughter that she'd gone to the hospital- so daughter #2 thought her mother was still at the campground and kept calling 911 to come get her, and kept calling the office to go help her. Mr W wasn't in the motorhome at the time, and I couldn't reach him at all...and no one could find him. She'd been at the hospital for about three hours when he finally got back to the campground and someone told him what had happened; I just felt horrible. It looks like she is going to be okay, luckily.
2. I go to school in Ottawa, and I'm living off campus this coming year (my second year :D). Finding an apartment has been THE most stressful part of university so far. :P There is way too much drama and rage involved with the entire process, coming largely from people I'm not even living with. I'm rooming with two of my friends, and another is under the impression that she's living with us- though she's not, I guess?- and the whole thing is just ridiculous, but it seems that it's my responsibility (for reasons I don't understand) to tell this girl that she's going to have to make other arrangements. I refused, she found out they didn't want her living there, and now she's mad at me. I'm sorry that this is so full of rage and angst, and that is seems so petty- I am just so frustrated!
The other thing I wanted to mention is, though none of you knew her, a close friend of the family died earlier, around 11 pm. She fought breast cancer for ten years, and is one of the strongest women I've ever had the privilege to know. Her daughter and I were very good friends growing up and I just can't imagine what she- or anyone in the family- is going through right now. RIP. ♥
