I have been doing heavy research. UC berkeley offers an EAP (education abroad program). I plan to apply for fall of next year at Tsukuba University. Ideally I would like to go in the spring cuz of the cherry blossom trees, but they don't offer the ILP for the spring, which is the intense learning program where they cram your head with japanese for a few good weeks. So I have to go for either a year or for the fall semester. I think I'll just try the semester, because I can only take two classes to count towards my psych major (which sucks) so the second semester wouldn't help me advance at all anyway. But then there are minors, which is a whole other story... ^_^"
if I go next fall, then that'll give me time to review the stuff I had already learned in japanese 1, then take japanese 2 in the spring, and then hopefully I'll get into the intermediate level for the ILP so I won't have to go to japan learning 'the basics.'
yeah... and i just discovered the deadline for application is november 13th... @_@
wow, that was probably a longer response than you were hoping for.... sorry! ^_^" I make a journal about it sometime soon I think...
Haha! You sound like me. I'm applying to study at The Yamasa Institute in Okazaki from April next year. I wanted to start in January so I'd be there when the peach blossoms came out and then the cherry blossoms. I'm dying to go to some concerts!
