today my friend ashley asked if my german teacher, who wanted a wedding without a man, was one of those psycho feminists who expected men to open doors for her.
also today, at the nursing home, ms. clouse told me if i didn't work with people when i get older, i would be making a mistake. i hope she's right. i love people.
i love their crooked smiles, the way little kids ask for too much for christmas but get it anyways, the way older boys use manners, the way a wrinkled woman with two boys asks for a glass of wine, the way a usually whiny table will be gracious after hearing honesty, the way a druggie reacts when i give him a high five.
i couldn't be happier. thank you God for this beautiful day.
