Ya (the gamers) ever have a character that was so great in concept... but ya just didn't get to play. Or play as far as you thought they should have?
I've several. Here are some characters that I just couldn't take all the way, but desperately want to. Perhaps I'll revisit them in another game, someday:
Maylanda - Star Wars - Now there's a character that could have gone places. The lady with a plan. Mysterious, manipulative, flirting with the Dark Side.... yet over all on the side of the Light. Her getting her way really would have improved the Galaxy. It was all a matter of finding the time and way to pull it all off.
Since we're on Star Wars - (To a lesser degree, Acompa. I took him pretty far. But he was one I really wanted to see what the end would bring for him. Even if Pat and I disagreed on what that end would look like)
Trifle - WoD Changeling - Good in concept, but high matinance. The fact that the changeling game I was in never had a ST that like... gave a crap. Trifle had a lot of inner demons to explore. And a lot of doors to unlock (and steal everything from the room behind). As per usual, a game of character better than the game it's in.
Jenny Bronze - WoD Promethian - While Trifle had a bad game, Jenny never had one at all. Promethian just wasn't popular, I guess. Anyway, she would have been intersting, I think. A creature, trying to learn how to be human... by studying monsters. It would have been an intersting way to look at the world, I thinnk.
Kath Felinesound And Heath Hammerhand - D&D Freeform - I played them alot, back in the day (BACK IN THE DAY!.... ahem) but as children. It would have been nice to get to know them better as adults, as they grew into their respective birthrights as Travelers.
I'm sure there are more. Will add as I think of them.
