(no subject)
The other night, I went to Northampton--much farther away than I thought--to see the Suicide Girls burlesque show with Mandy's friend Jenn. The show was awesome, one of the best concert-type things I've ever been to, but I was more interested in Jenn. Partly because she's Pagan, and I wanted to learn about her experience as such, but also because she reminded me so much of Gwen it was almost eerie. Similar face, body, voice, personality...after a few hours with Jenn, I felt like I'd known her for years. She's very pretty, too, but we're both taken, you see. At some point she's coming back to the local area, so maybe I'll get to spend time with Mandy, Jenn, and her boyfriend Tristan when she does move back.
Went on a date with Mandy last night. First one I've been on in a while, her first one ever. We went to see "The Illusionist", very cool movie. I noticed that Mandy doesn't seem to be a particularly physical person...I don't mean sexually, just...like, we barely ever touch each other in any way whatsoever. It's a little unusual for me.
Starbucks tonight. Paycheck tomorrow, finally! I'm working almost the entire weekend, plus another three shows in Providence for which I STILL haven't practiced :( I really need to get on top of that. I should at LEAST learn SOME music for Act II. Tomorrow, maybe...
Marc finished building my closet. It's a pretty good size, I can fit a lot of stuff in there besides just clothes. I started painting both sides of it, outside green, inside white. I was hoping that my "ULTRA PURE WHITE" ceiling paint would be blacklight-reactive, since that's the only kind of light I have for the closet, but sadly, it's not. The white still looks a lot better than bare plywood walls, anyway. Now all I need is a black velvet curtain to cover the doorway. Yeah, sounds weird, but whenever I imagined the finished closet, I specifically pictured a black velvet curtain, two hanging pieces on rings that I can slide out of the way, and a draped piece hanging down over the top, just because it looks cool. That's how my creativity works.
That's enough. Gonna try to accomplish something--anything--before work.
