back!
My Italy photos have been posted, so check them out. India will be coming soon! I remain stubbornly out of touch with the idea of school (and school work, rehearsals, etc). I can't even visualize summer yet, but I just don't feel compelled to get anything done. Oh what two weeks of vacation will do to you!
I sort of intended to write some post explaining my two weeks of adventuring, but the prospect seems overwhelming at the moment. Suffice to say, I had an amazing/fascinating time in India, and I also can't put into words how good it was to spend time with Dave. Highlights included seeing the Taj Mahal, funny dinners with the kooky academics at our guesthouse, and just absorbing everything. Then I got to hang out with Matt in Italy. I spent several days at a hostel in Florence with a fun crowd of fellow travelers, and then Matt and I stayed in a wonderful little apartment outside Venice run by this great family. We mostly wandered around in awe of Venice and made lots of silly jokes -- not surprisingly.
All in all, this trip provided some much-needed perspective. I'd gotten myself pretty thoroughly into a funk this semester, and I needed some sort of shift to land back on my feet at Williams. Only now I find myself mentally better able to contend with the social/personal aspects of the rest of the year, but apparently unwilling to dive into academics again. Hopefully this is a passing phase. Maybe I can continue to blame jetlag.
