say hello to ted
Originally uploaded by Dread Pirate Ruth. I am weirdly busy and not busy at the same time. The end of the semester is certainly upon me, but most of the pressure now is in the form of two projects, and it's kind of hard to spend all of my time project-ing, so instead I find myself whiling away looking at websites of places that might offer me a summer job.

We have a Berkshire Symphony concert tomorrow, and even though I'm only playing in one piece (erg, complicated story) I'm looking forward to it. The way our rehearsal schedule works, it's long enough between concerts that I almost forget how much I enjoy orchestra rehearsals, and then suddenly I'm back in that whole world and it's comfortable and lovely. Last night's rehearsal was fun because we were missing some people, so I got to jump around and sit in a few different places. I was actually first desk for the beginning because the second chair girl was late, so I was sitting next to my teacher, which wasn't as indimidating as I thought it was going to be.

I also find it entertaining to do things that are routine or natural for me now that I'm honing in on my anthropological skills. There are some things I found funny or amusing about musicians as a group, but I find many more of our nuances interesting with this additional perspective. Hooray! And now I run off to rehearsal.
