Kevin Smith and the Unfriendly Skies

Once again, Kevin Smith feels duped by an airline.

According to a post on his blog, Smith, his wife (Jennifer Schwalbach), and his "hetero-lifemate" Jason Mewes all had first-class tickets on a flight from JFK to LAX two days ago. They took advantage of every method possible to make sure they would get on the flight on time, arriving one hour ahead of the board time and using the provided concierge service. However, when they arrived at the gate, they were told they were ten minutes late and couldn't board the flight.

I couldn't possibly rehash the events as well as Smith, so it's best to read his blog, but one line caught my eye:
But like I said: I’ve been through it with an airline before. I knew this was a losing battle-for-reason; I’ve dealt with petty, per-hour tyrants who abuse their authority and assume nobody further up the corporate ladder is ever gonna hear about how they represented their employers in the worst possible light.
Really? That seems kinda elitist to me. Because someone works an hourly wage, they should be looked down on, especially when they don't treat you the way YOU wanna be treated? Come on!

I'm sure Kevin Smith isn't one to look down his nose at people, but that's not the attitude I'm getting from his own words.

celebrities, travel, wtf
