The FDA is working to make sure you can't get them. From the Democracy in Action website:
"The FDA is using legal maneuvering to end your access to natural health products (like vitamins, minerals and herbs) and natural health therapies of all sorts. Again. This time, their ploy is to declare the therapies are "Medicine" so any non-physician who uses them will be practicing medicine without a license. Since these practices are "Medicine", any products used would be untested drugs and therefore forbidden.

On their website is information about Codex Alimentarius, which is a UN environmental health standard plan that would actually significantly decrease the standards for agriculture by permitting higher levels of chemicals used on animals and plants (such as mandating hormone treatment for dairy animals, despite evidence of its ill effects on humans), by reducing organic standards to almost meaningless levels, and by outlawing supplements that contain anything over a minimal dose of vitamins that falls below a therapeutic or beneficial level for the body (everything else would be illegal). Among other restrictions. It is set to go into effect in the US at the end of 2009 if action isn't taken.
