So a great deal has happened since I last wrote in my journal.
School:school is great I am completing my assoc. in paralegal at WC3 and I am hoping to get enough financial aid to knock as many classes out as I can as soon as possible. I have about 30 credits to go. I got held up this past year but now I'm back on track with full force. I am working on landing some internships and working on making the most of my experience with the justice Caucus and Democracy for America to leave a lasting impact that will be helpful to youth coming in in the future. I'm using the experience and skills from Affirmations to get it off the ground. I can't wat to do my Wayne State thing as the internship opportunities and research opportunities are going to be so much fun there. Hopefully I can get in with the AFL-CIO or Service Union soon to get the direct care staff unionized, that is my short term goal. I am also looking at Xicano Development Center when I finish my paralegal to get some more organizing experience.

Work:I am still considering my options about gary's as I now found out they have been secretly taping me audio and video in the bathroom, dining room, and living room. His mom has been really obnoxious to me I overheard her talking to a friend boosting about the extra housework I do and refering to me as the help. ::rolling eyes:: I'm over working with him but it pays the bills till I can get enough experience and clients to do the paralegal thing fulltime. I hope to have my assoc. degree by this time next year in paralegal and do that to pay for my upper graduate studies.

political goodies:I'm working on Judge Rudy Serra's campaign in the 36th district court. Triangle backed him last election. I am looking for endorsements this round and well, everything else he is just getting his campaign off the ground. We are holding two more camp millies this coming month. We are having lots of fun honing the program and I'm using my skills from High Scope all over the place.

family: Angel and I are doing beautifully in our little love nest. We have crossed the 4 year mark and we are happy little clams. This August will be 5 years. No wedding in sight yet, we want to finish school first. So sorry Holly please put down the flower pamphlets. ::giggles:: Angel is finishing his bacholars this year in criminal justice and will be leaving for the academy this fall. We are training physically and mentally for this long journey and we are enjoying working out and eating delicious healthy meals together. I will miss him for those 3-4 months but I know school will keep me busy enough. I have healed my relationship with my father and step mother. The have appologized for the distance and sour feelings for 7 years and they have vowed to continue to support me with healthcare and normal parents things and that feels great. My mother and I are still not speaking but it is in her court. I will say that my strength in distancing myself from her has encouraged my siblings to stand up to her and set boundries and well and in small ways my mother is growing up as well and starting her medication again. My sister Taran and I have been having a standing date to watch the Gilmore Girls and dinner together on Tuedays and we have been growing closer and establishing a beautiful sisterhood we had not been allowed in childhood and that is so wonderful. She has a daughter Audrey and that baby is a gorgious september 15th baby, and you can tell she's a virgo. I have been taking all the neices and nephews out and doing things with them individually and that has been fun. I think the air is clear now and we all can relax and enjoy how special we all are to one another without the discomfort my mother caused. We have taken them shopping, to museums, hairsalons, the Eastern Market, all kinds of things. It;s fun being an aunt and big sister and I'm enjoying showing them things they wouldn't see with their parents. This summer my little brother is going to live with us for a couple weeks and take acting at the City theatre and cooking classes. Kadin is going to take art classes at WC3 and my sister is goign to take some firefighting and babysitting classes. I'm so proud of all of them being their own unique selves and taking their education so seriously. I'm glad that we are so centraly located to allow them to take classes in the city and experience the city, something many of their fellow classmates won't do for many years.

a step towards my career: I'm writing my first contract this week for a friend in our political group. I feel confident that it will go over well and I am really enjoying this work. I think that I will do very well in this career.

I guess that's about it!
