the 555
today I worked with angel for 4 hours uncle gary's dad got there. It was fun because gary wanted to snuggle with us and was laughing and singing all day. His birthday was yesterday, not tuesday like we had thought. so we looked like assholes and jerks having not brought him an "offering" lol. I told him I'd make him a treat this week and he was pleased enough with that. I'm thinking about doing one of my famous construction paper art card with a ketchup bottle because he loves that. I'm working on one for angel that is a very chubby kids hunched over a huge cake with the cake half eaten and it smeared all over his face with the lyrics "I love you like a fat kid loves cake" on top. I think he would get a particular kick out of the whole thing. gary loves to stim on the coca cola signs and anything heinz that's why I'm going to do the ketchup bottle in 3d for him to carry around and spill pop on lol, he's very good at that. kurtis finally called last night when we were at the gallery so I told him nevermind. angel and I had a grand time taking in the artwork at the gallery, dancing to dr. ron's music. we spoke with dr. ron about all the exciting things he's doing in the progressive movement and convinced him to come dj for some of our events. We all left the event quite inspired by what eachother were doing and having made a dear friend. he's really into getting a new barder system in place and I think I'm interested in hearing more about some different avenues where it's in place and working. hell if it's good enough for boston and buffalo, it's fabulous enough for detroit. but I have my reservation so I will hear more I'm sure from dr. ron. So thank you dr. ron for such an exciting time and for makign our first time to the 555 that much more exciting and thought provoking. I would encourage anyone to attend the 555 gallery on grand river and warren and I would go further to say that you will see some of the best and most up and coming artists detroit has to offer, they have a website so feel free to look about. it's 5 to get in during an event and it is wall to wall of the collective artists work so enjoy my darlings.
