4 days like these
This morning I woke up to an unfamiliar noise. It was a very quiet raspy meow. I half opened my eyes and looked in the direction from where the meow was coming from. There was Meeka, sitting on the floor at the edge of the bed, crying for attention. Meeka is a 9 week old kitten and the newest member of our family. She's cute, but she's a bit of a squawk box. I hope we can break her of the random meowing. though I know that for now she is still a kitten and learning new things all the time. She recently just found her tail and has been having riotous fun chasing it. She also has a thing for jewelery. go figure.
I have to leave for work in less than an hour. This doesn't make me happy. The work is not rewarding or exciting. It's food service, and I have been ranked amongst the felons, delinquents, and high school dropouts. I'm not judgemental at all, I don't think that they are bad people because of their life choices, most of them are relatively okay people, but their life choices vastly differ from my own. I chose school. I chose to wait for sex, I choose to moderate my experiences, and I choose to discuss things of importance. I hate the fact that during off times the only things people talk about are drugs, sex, and pop culture. My biggest mistake, is that I'm giving off this horrible impression that I think I'm better than everyone. I don't, but I also don't want to stand around and listen to 21 year old men talking about how proud they are to have little 12, 13, and 14 year olds hanging off of them. with my training I almost feel compelled to report them! for the exploitation of minors! In short, I don't hate my job for the job itself. I mean frig! I've made money the last 5 years as a dish bitch. What I can't stand are the people. I've asked several times to have my shift changed to the day shift, but then I would be forced to work with the ice bitch from hell.
