Just saw another monument, Pat. We went to the same Summer School after my senior year at Shawnee Heights. It was sort of a 2 month transition between high school and college. He studders, smells, and is a social blunder waiting to happen, however his shy half smiles and enthusiasm make him one of the most adorable people you will ever meet. I've known him for 5 years and he's now on the local Eudora newspaper staff. I kind of look at the people I've met in my life as monuments under construction. I can see Pat moving up in the journalism world as he gets older. I see Jason going to grad school. My sister directing plays.

Things are kind of more uncertain for me (and probably Tommy) right now. I look at all the construction projects around and wonder what I'll end up being. Whatever it may be, I'm thankful for the people around me who's lives silently encourage me to become better.
