We were looking at the weather for today, and I mentioned that there was a yellow warning of heavy rain and thunderstorms. **TODO wanted to know what a yellow warning was, so I explained the Met Office warning system. The Met Office is predicting a storm. A fair bit of uncertainty about the track this far out, but it looks pretty wet and blowy Sunday night/Monday morning for southern Wales and the Midlands & Southern England ( Read more... )

I went to Vancouver! Again! (Last time was 2001.) In aeroplanes! And flew with my friend Don WINOLJ in a little Cessna from Boundary Bay airport (south of Vancouver) to Victoria, near his house, which was absolutely fantastic. It's nearly Spring! Saw my first blackthorn blossom this morning. I think that warm bit at the weekend has prompted it, after the snow has long gone. Well, a couple of weeks gone. Snow! Lying all around. And just in time for the first school Christmas play I'll have been to since the 1980s.

Today is a good day. I've come out in the same rash that **FIXME did after his fever, which suggests that it's the same thing and that I'm going to be feeling better from now on.
