Finish planting the tree
We've been having some building work done. It was nearly finished last September, and has pretty much stayed nearly finished since then.
Domestic conversation last Tuesday evening:
- Oh, and the builder's coming round tomorrow morning!
- What makes you think that he'll be here tomorrow?
- (slightly nonplussed) Well he phoned me at lunch time and said he'd be round tomorrow.
- What makes you think that he'll be here tomorrow?
- Ah. Good point.
He's just phoned me again, and says he's definitely, totally planning to be here next Wednesday.
I'm not waiting in.
