Bicon flying past

Sep 02, 2011 09:14

Had another flying lesson on Monday, this time from Cranfield, my local airport. Will write it up later; for now, it suffices to say NEEEEEEAAAAAAAWWW!

I'm at Bicon!

Previous Bicon venues have generously provided complementary groups of people to enhance Bicon attenders' enjoyment. (Most memorably - for me - a squad of rugby players in Edinburgh.) This year Leicester University have supplied a posse of builders. Alas, while I'm sure they're nice chaps and are, I don't doubt, perfectly competent builders, they don't quite visually match up to the gay/bi fantasy image. They're wearing rather more clothes under their hi-vis vests for starters.

In fairness they have fulfilled one bedroom role for me. At home, the kids wake me up far too early, but at Bicon they're miles away and can't do that. Luckily the builders stepped in and roused me bright and early at 7.20am with heavy plant reversing noises right outside my window.

New look (including hairstyle) a definite hit so far, gratifyingly.
