The record industry still doesn't get it

Gloomy Bristol trip-hoppers Portishead have surfaced from years of inward-facing moping with their third album, wackily titled Third. They announced that it was nearly done back in October, and played some of the new tracks at a gig in December. I have, in the past, bought CDs when I have already legitimately and for-free downloaded the music.

I like CDs. I don't like the ephemeral nature of mp3s. They're dead handy, but they never really convince me that I really have a copy of the album.

I doubt I'm a serious percentage of the market, however, despite my best efforts.
