There's a big brown-field development going on in my village. The developer has stuck a flyer through my door announcing a public exhibition on the next phase. It's full of guff about how they've met locals' concerns. One of the things they highlight is a new bus service they're subsidising as part of planning gain for the first two phases. There's a photo alongside of a road sign featuring a bus. So far so good ... except the bus is in a red circle.
Yes, they're showing their commitment to providing a good bus service by showing a "NO BUSES" sign.
Yes, I know, that sign formally means 'No vehicles with more than twelve seats except for regular scheduled, school and work buses' but that's the shorthand.
