a little overwhelmed right now
Three days moving, three days painting. I haven't slept past 8am in over a week, and not past 6:30 am since Sunday. The biggest wall in the living room needs to be repainted again (we ran out of paint and had to try to make as much of it as we could, which means you can see every single roller line... and this wall is always in sunlight) but I will leave that to the boy, because the rest of that room was all my doing. :P
Mom bought him a mahogany dining room table with six chairs as a housewarming gift. It's old - 1940's at the latest. It needs some work but at the moment it will do just fine. The stand for the tank is built, but we ran into a problem when we realized the stand we bought only safely holds 135 pounds... and only after it was already mostly assembled did we realize this. There will be at least 100 pounds of sand in that thing, and the tank itself is probably close to another 100. It's wide and seems to distribute weight nicely, but we're gonna add some more reinforcements to places to make it sturdier so hopefully it will last several years without cracking or collapsing.
We're leaving for Otakon (in Baltimore) next Thursday. I have 2-3 cosplays to finish (Rochelle needs her Depeche Mode shirt, boots, and dreads, gonna attempt to ghetto together a Sneasel, and I need to find a red shirt for Chloe) and less than $100 to do it. I still want to get the hermit crabs into the new tank before the end of the week if possible, and we still need to clean his apartment, and, you know, organize and put things away.
Today marks 11 months with my doofus face. Our one-year anniversary is the day of my final exam in trigonometry (which starts August 1st, aka the day after Otakon, and I'm getting my wisdom teeth taken out 2-3 days after the class wraps) so this next month should be a blast all around!
