Breakfast and lunch could both use an extra pair of hands, I think. Either shift would welcome a new addition.

Breakfast or lunch. I guess it depends on whether I want to make him work early or interrupt his day.

I would certainly appreciate it. If it's alright for me to come and choose from what you have.

I'd return the offer, but I doubt you'll have a use for a text in Spanish, from 1898.

Of course. Come by whenever you'd like.

If I knew more than basic Spanish for emergencies, I'd probably say yes.

I'll be free some point this afternoon, if you'll be in.

If it would be useful, I would teach you some more, but I'm fairly sure there are other languages of more use here.

Should be. Cabin 2, Level 5, when you're free.

There are, but god knows I have enough trouble understanding people even when they're using English.

Anything's possible, Dr Watson.

...wording, John, wording.

If Sirius makes a deal with you to revive James and Lily Potter and then graduates, will it be done?

If he graduates, he gets a second chance at life. If he graduates an inmate of his own? Well, I suppose I could probably find it within my considerable heart to bring the Potters back to life.

Yes. Good. That's...well, that's what I meant.

Thank you.

[Have the happiest Sirius ever, John!]

Really? You're certain?

Merlin's--

Blimey. This is--

[He can't stop grinning. He doesn't so much care that he can't string a coherent sentence together.]

[Oh, Sirius. John's finding it difficult not to smile himself at your glee.]

Absolutely.

[And John unlocks his (rather bumbling) conversation with the Admiral to Sirius.]

[He reads the conversation a good three, four, five times. If he graduates and becomes a warden, he can make a deal to bring James and Lily back to life. No, not if. When. Because there's no doubt about it now - whatever else, he has to see this through.]

Thank you so much for asking him for me, John.

I told you I would, Sirius. I don't make promises I don't intend to keep.

Really? You've never - no, of course you haven't heard of it - it's a style of music. One of my favourites, actually.

And is it from Mo?

Motown was this record company that produced all this music in the 1960s and early 70s out of Detroit.

Detroit's sometimes called motor town, so motor plus town minus a few letters...Motown.
