1) Is the thing in the comment up there about a spirit death train for realz, if so that is trippy as hell whooooa
2) "people already drawing a salary from the government are people employers don't need to pay!.. ..jobs also pay out in weekly anemoi, because you still need some incentive to work." I'm stupid and got confused; so, the employers *do* pay you, just much less because you're already getting the government stipend? Anyway, does this mean characters who get jobs end up with more income overall than explorers? I math not good
Just me musing outloud) Let's say I'm bringing in mushi from Ginko's world. That means that Ginko pretty much has to keep going outside the city half the time, since in canon he has to keep traveling to prevent the mushi magnetism from turning one place into a mushi potential clusterfuck. It might be a fun, but could you see any potential problems with that? Do explorers normally only spend a day or two in the wilderness thanks to those mysterious creatures? How dangerous is it, how creative would I have to be to allow Ginko to keep moving?
2) No, the employers pay you in anemoi, not cash. Regular NPCs do have them just lying around, but they know they're worth something to new arrivals. If you've got a job in the city, you're not going out exploring, but you're still being paid in memories, essentially. Whereas those going out find anemoi and potentially a whole bunch of other cool stuff!
