I'm tired...really tired. I suppose I should get more sleep. But I've been watching Witch Hunter Robin on Cartoon Network, it's kind of weird, and tries a little too hard to be eerie, but I guess it's cool. I'm got really pissed today. I so needed to vent but had no one to vent too. And it's not like everybody hasn't heard me bitch about politics ( Read more... )

Yeah, that is a pretty good argument. I've talked about the difference of married in a churches eye, and married in the laws eyes. Of course he calls the legal part 'union'.
But as I said before, I have yet to hear a valid political reason (Without bringing in God) why Bush, or anyone else, is against Gay marriages. (Aside from 9th grade when some kid would put his index fingers together and say 'See, it just doesn't work,' to which I would reply, 'Flip it around and it works just fine,')

Now to be fair, the article I read about it did say the amendment would 'leave the door open' to 'civil unions between same sexes' or something like that. Now why would they create two different legal terms for same sex and opposite sex marriages? Maybe so they can write laws that only pertain to one? So each one can be viewed and judged differently in courts? It's starting to sound suspiciously like 'separate but equal' which, everyone knows, never is.

Exactly!!! Thats the first thing I thought of when Mass changed their law and people started protesting.

I still dont understand why people get so uppity about homosexuality. I guess I never will understand, I wasnt brought up in the church to think anything of it. I was taught bad people do bad things but the badness was really easy to see from a kids view. Its not so easy now but I dont see how sex is *bad* if its *good* between some other persons. Meh.

And if the church wants to talk about how wrong homosexuality is, that's fine. But the fact is, it's not HURTING anybody. Killing a person is wrong in the Christian faith, but it also hurts somebody, mainly, the person who dies, and their family. So murder is and should be a law. It also happens that this law abides by Christianity also. Homosexuality and same sex marriages don't hurt anybody, the only thing I ever heard wrong about it is that it's 'anti-Christian'. Well, not believing in God is anti-Christian too, does that mean we should have a law that says everyone must worship God and Jesus? That would violate everything this country was founded for, was built upon, and what it stands for today. Religious freedom is one of the foremost prinicipals of America, and if we make laws strictly on the basis that certain religion says is immoral, it is possibly one of the most unconstitutional and unpatriotic things a person can do ( ... )
