So I guess it's time for the traditional end of year post, right? :)
This year has been...amazing. Simply, one hundred percent incredible. I've gone from being stuck in a crappy part time job at the start of the year to a shiny new full time job, that I can do well, and that pays me well, that's in a nice office with good people. Sure, it's not the high flying job I wanted at a music magazine, but it pays the bills and buys the gig tickets. That's all that really matters, right?
I've gone from being just a regular member of the KHK at the start of the year to running the Scottish division, to then running the UK division. It's been pretty spectacular, it has to be said. I've enjoyed every single moment of it. From that, I've had the honour of meeting the KH guys THREE times this year alone. Walking up to Mat Devine in the middle of a car park, thousands of miles from home, and having him not only recognise you but be psyched to see you? That's pretty damn cool. And a lot of it is down to the leader of the KHK, Lisa. She's awesome. My increased activity in the KHK this year has meant I've gotten to know a lot of my KHK family a lot better, and they're all such incredible people.
Oh yeah, and I also met My Chemical Romance and Thirty Seconds to Mars this year. That was also HELLA COOL! A dream come true, really. It's been such an incredible year for the bands I love, and I couldn't be happier on that front.
I feel like I've done a lot of travelling this year...I've been to Cardiff, Leeds, Blackpool, Manchester, Birmingham and of course Florida. I'll be doing a lot of travelling in 2011 as well - I'm doing FOUR dates of the MCR tour, and will be visiting New York, Florida and Chicago at various points through the year. Pretty excited :)
Front This Scene is relaunching in the new year with our very own dot com, I can't wait. I'm so excited for the next chapter of FTS to get under way, it'll be awesome :)
aaaaaaaaaand, I'm re-writing the novel. I hope to have it finished by this time next year. If I finish it...that'll be pretty incredible.
So, yeah...2010 has been freaking awesome. I look forward to 2011!
