My god, I haven't updated since August 1st. Yeesh.
So what's happened since then?
I'm still at my job, which is great! Been nearly a year now. Made some good friends, make good money, and generally enjoy it. Although I wasn't able to get in today due to the shocking lack of public transport. Can't believe Scotland has been totally crippled by the snow. Russia is laughing at us right now.
Creatively speaking, things are also going well. Front This Scene is moving from Myspace really soon. When it Myspace moved to its new system, it messed up our profile and blog and effectively halted MCR week, which sucked! But Nicole and I are working on it, and we'll hopefully be back with it some point in the new year. Can't wait :)
Things have been pretty good on the gig front recently as well. Did 2 dates of MCR's World Contamination Tour, Manchester and Edinburgh, and was lucky enough to meet the band after the show in Edinburgh. It was...incredible. A dream come true. To be able to look Gerard Way in the eye, and say thank you? Yeesh. It really meant a lot to me. And Mikey Way gives the best knuckle bumps of all time.
And I met 30 Seconds to Mars at a Golden Ticket meet and greet in Aberdeen on Friday! Again, an incredible experience. Such sweet and gracious guys. I had a fantastic time.
This time of year, I guess you start to reflect on everything...since this year started, I've completely changed - I now have three tattoos (two Kill Hannah, one MCR), I've travelled a lot more, I'm more outgoing definitely, and way more easy going as well. I laugh things off a lot more, instead of clinging to them and letting them make me bitter. A lot of that is down to the fact that I've made a *lot* of new friends this year, mostly through going to gigs, my job and street teaming. I've had the pleasure of meeting lots of cool people in different ways - either through bonding on the KHK website, to meeting them at shows, or through arranging an MCR promo day in Glasgow recently. And it's really helped show me that putting yourself out there, being social and making friends - it can be scary, sure, but it's super rewarding as well. Naomi, Richard, Jessica, Laura, Ozzie, Clare, Alexis, Lisa, Sassa and most recently, Ashley, all of them are fantastic people. I've had so much fun this year and they've all been a part of it.
I'm rewriting my novel - AGAIN! - I think this is the fourth time now? But it feels different this time. I'm really gunning for it. Things seem to be falling into place, I'm inspired...I hope to have it finished by the end of 2011. Then we'll see what happens :)
2011 is already shaping up to be a crazy one. I'm gone for pretty much a full week in February, jumping between Kerrang tour and the MCR tour. That'll be interesting! I'm going to NYC in the spring, Florida in the late summer and Chicago in the winter - broadening those horizons like woah - and no doubt will be up and down the country for various tours as well.
I'm really content right now, and excited for what's to come. Can't really ask for more than that, I guess :)
Hope you're all well.
