Yeah, but that was when the riverbank was slipping away because of all the rain.

The statement was the same, but it came from the opposite direction, as it were.

For those fans, who remembers the "Ode to the Working Dog"?

Hi, I'm the grande dame of Pondside. Mother to everyone and no one. Artist, singer and general layabout. (retired from 26 years of Govt hell)

You'd like gardening where we live. (Victoria, B.C. City of Gardens - Canada) A little in-ground micro-irrigation and everything stays green all year round. Mind you, the slugs might be a bit of a shocker for you :)

I've experienced some gardening in the semi arid areas of California but I've never lived anywhere hot enough to scorch. Even Abbotsford BC where I lived for 22 years only got into the 100's a couple of days a summer and swooped down to -17 in the winter for about a week every 3 years or so.

Victoria has much more temperate climate and a constant breeze. (light sea breeze up to exceeding brisk gale) No chance to get too hot - you open the front and back door and the house cools down in 5 minutes.

Umm... Greetings.
I remember Victoria. Very pretty.

It's been a long time, but someday I shall get back over there & see it all again.

When were you over here in the other ghods country? If you find yourself able to return -- drop on over and check out our little chunk of paradise ( ... )

I can't imagine slugs being a problem, we have native slugs that are 6 - 8 inches long. Cutely slimy little guys.
