Storms expected this afternoon & rain for the next 3 days. I do hope so.
Hot & dry makes planting out roses [citrus, nut trees, stonefruit, pansies, violas, cosmos, lobelia, dianthus, asian veg, lettuce] too darn hard, so anything in pots is sitting on the front porch, where it's reasonably sheltered from the worst of the heat.
This is Queensland, "wet" plants like asian veg & lettuce need to be planted in semi to full shade anyway, as does celery. The brassicas cope best with morning sun, not too much midday sun & shaded afternoons. Even delectable mediterranean solanums [tomatoes, eggplant, capsicums] are best without the post-1pm scorching heat.
Plant more trees people.
