London Fashion Week Spring 2011 Round-Up

Fashion Week continues with a bevy of designers across the pond who have their own interpretations of the trends (brights, sheer, ladylike, diaphanous, safari, etc.) that took New York by storm. Again, for those of you who haven't gotten around to looking at the runway reviews, here are my favorites from the London Spring 2011 runways.





Antonio Berardi
Erdem
A noticable change in the London runways is the increase in the use of lace compared to the New York runways. I love how we're seeing lace paired up with the sheer trend to give an unexpected edge to the fabric so commonly associated with primness.



Burberry Prorsum
I think most of us can agree that nobody does outerwear like Burberry.



Giles
Not only is the collection a refreshing mix of giant pompoms and bright candy colors, but Deacon also treated us to runway full of our favorite models including Alessandra Ambrosio, Jessica Stam, Dree Hemingway, and Coco Rocha.



Mary Katrantzou
'Mobile art' is the best way I can describe the pieces. I also love how she incorporated different materials for different portions of the work to make it even more interesting than it already is.



Matthew Williamson
Holly Fulton
Amazing colors, amazing prints, what else is there to say?



Paul Smith
There will always be a special place in my heart for meanswear so I'm glad at least one designer was inspired by it this season. Of course, it is a Spring collection so you can see the faint floral prints and the bright pops of color mixed with the greys.



Roksanda Ilincic
Ilincic extends the diaphanous trend to every piece in this collection (look at the outerwear!) with such fantastic draping and tailoing.



Unique (Topshop)
Twenty8Twelve
These two brands have imo come up with pieces that are appealing to their target audience of girls, who like to go to festivals as much as they enjoy sipping champaign.
