Preliminary Nominees This is where to go to find everything you need to know for Round 6 of the Dramione Awards!
NOTE: Changes made on March 1, 2010 will be noted in red.
Timeline:
Nominations: February 15 - March 15
Contacting Authors/Artists: March 16 - March 22
Voting: Seconding: March 23 - April 30
Voting: May 2 - May 15
Winners Announced: May 2 May 16
Rules & Procedures (Fiction):
Eligibility:
- This is a Draco/Hermione award community. Therefore, all nominated stories must contain Draco/Hermione as the main relationship. NOTE: Threesome fics are NOT eligible, even if Draco and Hermione are a part of that threesome (for example: fics with Draco/Hermione/Blaise would not be eligible).
- With the exception of the “Best WIP/Incomplete Tale” category, all nominated stories must have been COMPLETED in 2009. Nominees for “Best WIP/Incomplete Tale” must have been STARTED in 2009.
- The
dhr_archive community is available as a resource. On this community you can find posts that contain an extensive list of fics completed in 2009. However, we can't claim that this list is exhaustive. You are welcome to nominate a story not on the list, but we must be able to verify that it was completed in 2009 (or started in 2009, in the case of Best WIP) to be eligible. If you nominate a story that isn't on the lists, we'll add it to the appropriate post so others will see it as well.
- Stories written for an exchange that had a 2009 due date are eligible for nomination, even if the story was actually posted for the first time in 2010. This means that all stories written for the recent round of the DMHG Fic Exchange (“Ring in the New Year”) are eligible for nomination since they were due in 2009. On the flip side, stories written for the previous “Shine a Light” round of the DMHG exchange are not eligible, because they were due in 2008 and already had their chance to be nominated in the “Best of 2008” awards. A list of LJ communities that ran Dramione exchanges/fests in 2009 is available at the
dhr_archive.
Note: You can still nominate fics from the DMHG Exchange, even if the author has not yet been revealed. Simply submit your nomination with the author’s name listed as “Anonymous”, and we will get in touch with them after the reveal.
The 2009 DMHG Exchange master list is now up! - All nominated fics must be greater than 1000 words in length. At a later date, we will have a special round devoted exclusively to shorter works of fiction.
- Since we are limiting the pool of eligible fics to those completed in 2009, we doubt we will encounter this situation very often, but just in case: stories that won a Dramione Award in the past are still eligible, as long as they fit the above criteria.
Nomination Procedure:
- As with the last round, everyone will submit a list of the stories they think deserve recognition as the “Best of 2009”. You may nominate only ONE story for each category. We will post a template for this list, as well as a list of categories, on
The Nomination Post once the round begins.
- We will not have a seconding phase for this round. The top six stories with the most nominations in each category will proceed to the voting phase (seven may proceed if there are ties). A story must be nominated twice in a specific category to be eligible for that category. We WILL have a seconding phase for this round! See
THIS POST for more details! Before nominating fics, you should check
the running list of nominees to make sure you are not nominating a fic that has already been nominated.
- A category must have three nominees by the end of the nomination phase seconding phase in order to run in this round of awards.
- You may not nominate your own stories!
- We will attempt to contact all nominated authors after nominations close. If we do not hear back from an author by Midnight EST on March 22nd, their nominated story/stories will not proceed to the voting phase. If an author notices that their fic(s) have been nominated, they also have the option of leaving a comment or sending an email to dramioneawards@gmail.com to accept/decline their nomination while the nomination phase is still going on (see
THIS POST for more details).
- An author can only have ONE story nominated per category at the end of the seconding phase. If they have more than one nominee in a category, we will ask them to choose one to proceed to the voting phase in that category.
- A story can only be a final nominee in a maximum of THREE categories in addition to ONE length category at the end of the seconding phase. If a story is a final nominee in more than the allowed number of categories, the author will be asked to narrow down which categories the fic will run in.
Nominations are CLOSED. Go to
The Seconding Post to second the nominated fics!
Rules & Procedures (Art):
Eligibility:
- All nominated art must feature Draco and Hermione, and must have been posted for the first time in 2009.
- As with the fiction, all art created for the recent “Ring in the New Year” round of the DMHG Fic Exchange is eligible, regardless of when it was first posted. Also, you can still nominate art from the DMHG Exchange, even if the artist has not yet been revealed. Simply submit your nomination with the artist’s name listed as “Anonymous”, and we will get in touch with them after the reveal.
The 2009 DMHG Exchange master list is now up! - All forms of art are acceptable, including photo manipulation, digital art, and traditional drawings and paintings.
Nomination Procedure:
- Everyone will submit a list of the art they think deserves recognition as the “Best of 2009”. We will post a template for this list on
The Nomination Post once the round begins. Go to
THIS POST if you are looking for places to fine eligible art.
- There is no limit to the amount of art you can nominate. However, as always, you may not nominate your own work!
- There will still be no seconding phase for art. All nominated art will proceed to the voting phase, except that artists will be limited to having three pieces of art run in the awards.
- We will attempt to contact all nominated artists after nominations are closed. If we do not hear back from an artist by Midnight EST on March 22nd, their nominated art will not proceed to the voting phase.
Nominations are CLOSED. Voting for art will begin on May 2nd and the nominees will be revealed at that time.
