TBH, I've been less than thrilled with the season in general. I feel like all the narrative subtlety has been drained out of the show, to be replaced with greenscreen wackiness. Some of that may be due to the fact that a lot of material was cut for time, but that can't account for everything. Granted, there have been some good moments (e.g. Myka facing down Helena in the finale was epic), but in general I think the changes in tone and pacing have been to the show's detriment.

Good AU. Better than canon stupidsies.

I am slightly less disappoint, but... "Where and When" is my happy place this season so I THINK I'LL HANG OUT THERE FOR A WHILE.

Re: HG... I got nothing on the trident. In terms of the money, I don't know that she hacked anything so much as got herself reinstated in order to have access to Warehouse funds. They gotta have one hell of an expense account, and no one looked all that closely at what was going on until the guys got insta-mummied.

As far as her bronzing goes, we do only have her word to take for what happened (though I think the Regents would've been more dubious if she hadn't asked for it, at least), and she has no reason to be a fully reliable narrator. It's possible she was more unstable than she's let on, though again, why would the Regents reinstate her knowing that? And if she's not more unstable than she's let on, I want to know what pushed her to the point of being willing to start a new ice age. It's not really in line with 'grieving for her daughter.' (And whatever her true mental state, she clearly was ( ... )

Yeah... I liked the focus on wit and snark this season but can we please have some plot also? More than 12 eps is TOTALLY OKAY WITH ME. And it's not like Syfy is unwilling to spring for things like decent effects (see BSG), so maybe up the budget a hair? If filming in Toronto is heinously expensive...film somewhere cheaper? I hear the tax incentives in Portland are awesome.

re:HG Um... I may have knowledge of someone (not me) creating a journal for her yesterday. *cough*

More plot would be a thing of great beauty. And the show's popular enough that they could definitely justify doing a few more episodes per season. Even 15 or 16, if they didn't want to go all the way to 22, would have worked out better with everything they were trying to do.

I also feel like they let Leena down in a big way (though rumor has it Genelle Williams was pregnant during some of filming, and... frankly I'd rather not see her for a month than try to write that in and have to deal with 'MacPherson probably raped her while he was controlling her'...). Props for Myka calling her the Team Mom, but... MORE LEENA PLS. And they could've at least mentioned why she wasn't around for a few weeks.

AWESOME. Now all we need is Fargo! (Well, and Pete, but I am totally not angling for 'interdimensional space makes long-distance relationship easier.' Not at all.

Having slept on it and spent the day thinking things through, I believe part of the problem with HG was that the writers just plain didn't know what to do with her. I wouldn't be surprised to find that this season was originally conceived with MacPherson as the main villain, and they had to do a quick rewrite when Roger Rees got a gig in South Africa...

What really annoys me is that in the 1st episode MacPherson called HG his "old friend" and nothing this season really explained why he debronzed her or why they went through all the trouble of breaking into the Warehouse to get her stuff. It makes no sense.

Honestly this feels like half a season. I want to believe that it'll come back after a two or three month break and explain everything. There have just been a lot of plot holes this season.

Then again the second season is where a lot of shows fail. So it's not too unusual to have a shoddy second season. But I'm not happy with this.

I do like the acknowledgement that Claudia is the only adult though. Because it's true.

In my head!au Myka goes off and finds HG and then the two of them have an epic roadtrip where they work out their issues. Possibly by visiting the biggest ball of twine and various county fairs and having symbolic adventures. Yes.

That's a good AU. Is there prison breaking too? I love a good prison break/road trip.

There may possibly be some prison breaking. And eating of twizzlers.

Lots of twizzlers! I purchased Twizzlers specifically for eating while watching WH13.
