So the
interview...was AWESOME!
Before we started the on-camera interview, the film maker and his assistant chatted with me about the project. The original concept of a documentary about the Ottawa Fringe, has given way to a broader, but more involved project tracking different people in Ottawa's theater scene. Afterwards, we had a pre-interview. They asked me some of the questions they'd planned for the documentary and based on my answers, determined which topics they wanted to revisit and/or expand on during filming.
They were professional, friendly and best of all, very clear about what they needed from me on-camera. As a result, I felt very comfortable once they started shooting. At first, I thought perhaps *too* comfortable. To be sure, I was chattering like a magpie! But they kept asking me questions. They asked about my relationship with DK, being a mother and my long history as a nerd. I kept waiting for the part where he'd politely ask me to shut up. Instead he kept encouraging me to talk more.
After we finished the interview, he asked if I'd stay and have a danish with him. I'm thinking, 'Dude, you just let me indulge in self-center prattle for two hours! I'll stay here all damn day'. But, hey...bonus danish! The long and short of it is that he said incredibly flattering things about my interview, then asked if I let the crew film more of my life, both personal and professional over the next little while.
I believe my exact words were, "Um, HELL yes!"
I'm (maybe) going to be a "character" in this documentary! AWESOME!
Other Things That Are Awesome:
As I was riding home, I could see dark rain clouds forming. The first drop fell, as I coasted into the garage.
My first tulip has bloomed!
I LOVE TODAY!
