The
New Ottawa Repertory Theatre is planning a series of plays about the black experience in white America for its 2007-2008 season. The artistic director invited me to be part of the core company for the season, to which I responded "hells, yeah!"
Last night we held our first general meeting. We discussed possible plays for the season, and established a tentative schedule for the shows. The first show of the season (which will like be A Raisin In The Sun, will probably start rehearsals in September. Between then and next spring, the artistic director would like to mount four shows. As it stands now, I'd be cast in at least two but most likely three of the four shows.
Three shows in one season! That's a LOT of time, energy and work. Scary!
But...
THREE SHOWS IN ONE SEASON! Three meaty roles! The chance to mount theatre not often seen in these parts! The rehearsals! A opportunity to be on stage again! Exciting!
DQ23 is coming up Milhouse!
