Ooo, that's good information. mrclick has dreams of putting all 2000 of his books (or some number like that) in shelves displayed through my little condo. Perhaps I can persuade him to keep it to just a few shelves, keeping the other books in boxes since I would imagine we'll move after a few years.

Although maybe it's worth putting more out in the open until we need to sell the place. It is a few years after all...

hee hee... yup, the boy sure loves books. I'm curious to know what he thinks of the new Amazon Kindle that sinnick was talking about this week. It would really cut down on real estate, but is it as good as the real thing?

Not to me. There's a sensual experience to reading that I love. The smell of paper, the sound of turning the pages, the weight in my hands...all an essential part of enjoying a good book.

I fully agree; I much prefer reading a book to reading a computer screen for all of the same reasons. Well, I at least could identify that as the case, but I was left wondering why this was so. Was it culture? Familiarity? It didn't occur to me to think about how the 5 senses are active with reading a book and not so much a screen. I'll have to think about that... it might just be the reason I've been looking for!
