1. What other names did you seriously consider (boy or girl) before deciding on DP's name?
Drama Prince's (first) name is the only one DK and I both loved. We both liked Avery but didn't love it. Once upon a long time ago, when our kids were still just theoretical, we were partial to Benjamin, but it got a little too trendy in the interim. We were also considering James for a middle name. We also really liked the name Ferdinand, but agreed that while it's an awesome name, you need some Spanish heritage to back it up.
If Drama Prince had been Drama Princess her name would have been Caia Elizabeth. If we ever have a daughter that's name we plan to give her.
2. What's the best book you've read lately?
Eleanor Rigby by Douglas Coupland. It was darkly hilarious and the plot defied my every assumption again.
3. What is your earliest memory of us being friends?
Those early years of friendship are such a blur to me. I remember things, but I can't place them in a particular time. I remember coming over to play at your old, old, old house in Amberlea. We went to the playground, which if memory serves was like two doors away. It was that wet, mucky time of spring. I think my pants got muddy and your mom lent me a pair of yours to go home in.
4. What's your favourite episode of Little House on the Prairie?
I think it's Season Two. The Ingalls and the Olsons go camping together. As usual, the Olsons (with the exception of Nells) are assholes. At one point Nelly and Laura go off together to collect leaves and fall into the swift current of the river. The crisis bonds the girls and the two families in general. In the end, the girls are rescued and the Olsons instantly revert to being bastards again. It's a really funny episode.
