General weekend stuff
So let's see what was going on in the life of Kari since we last saw her. *shakes head* I've lost it.
Friday night was spent at dinner with other members of the Columbus Free Clinic steering committee. We had to choose who we wanted to take our place for next year. The food was all wonderful and deciding didn't take long, although I feel bad about the last person who was chosen. We had two people for one spot and I was the only one who knew them both. *sigh* Either way I'd feel bad I guess.
But while we were there we were telling stories of funny things that happened while we worked at the clinic which soon became Funny Kari Story Time. Normally this wouldn't have bothered me, I have no problem laughing at the fact that when I work at the clinic I suddenly get a lot ditzier than I usually am. But this time they were talking about how I flirt with all the guys (I do?!) and I laugh at stupid things and I tell the same story over and over. I don't know, I think I just felt that the minute I left dinner they were all going to turn and laugh at me and it just made me feel very not good about myself.
One of the girls was just surprised that when I meet someone I have no problem talking to them and just telling them things. And I'm like, well why not? Why not get to know people? I may not be at the top of the class in studies but when it comes to patients contact, getting information out of patients, talking to them, I was 3rd in the class last year. Think that means something? It probably shouldn't have bothered me as much as it did and I did my best to laugh it off, but it still hurt.

Saturday was all right. I had a dinner thing with an organziation I used to be part of as an undergrad. Food was good. I really do love seeing these people year after year. My friend Tom came again this year and I swear the moment I saw him I couldn't keep from smiling. I don't know what it is about him but I think I'll never stop crushing on him. But it was good times in the end. Went to the bar afterwards and played darts for awhile. Good times.

Things with J are still going all right. Altough my friend Lindsey said he's already making plans for Valentine's Day. Eeek. I don't celebrate V-day. Just not my thing. I haven't often had a guy on that day but I've never really had an interest in celebrating. And I'm not sure I want to change it now. But we will see. My birthday is the next week so I'd rather celebrate that. Although I feel like I'm starting to get to the point that I don't really want to get any older.

Anyone watch the US nationals in figure skating this weekend? I was so mad because I set the tape but I guess the men's was on ESPN not ABC so I didn't get the men's and I hear Evan Lysacek was awesome. Saw the ladies though. I almost cheered for Emily Hughes in the end because I'm worried that Kimmie Meissner is starting to feel too secure in her standing. Just wait until Sasha comes back and knocks her down a peg or two. Hee!

Oh so I'm planning on going to Europe with my two best friends in June to celebrate my passing of the boards (I hope I hope). Does anyone know when would be a good time to search for plane tickets? We found some cheap ones but they needed to be used by March 30th, which of course is a no can do. So I was thinking we should start looking end of February and into March.

Oh, played Sims tonight for the first time in forever. Caleb and Olivia both had a birthday. I swear, he is the most adorable toddler ever. Olivia's more like Lorelai and Wiliams more like Luke but Caleb is the most like a combination of the two. Olivia's a very sweet teenager now and I'm excited to see who will be her first kiss because that's her major goal right now. Meanwhile, Rory snuck out the house to meet up with Dean! Seriously, Rory did. I was shocked. Luke and Lorelai, of course, want another kid. Seriously they're like baby-making factories. But they're still seriously in love and I love that.
And everytime Luke comes home from work, William runs outside to give him a hug! It's sooo cute! I took a picture of it so i'm going to try to put that in my next LJ. I also got the family together for a group photo although I'll have to take another one since Olivia and Caleb grew up since that photo. Maybe I'll get them in front of L/L's wedding chuppah for you.
