In my continuing quest to get absolutely no work done this weekend, I shall write a rather lengthy post about my life of late. Since getting back to school, I have been going non-stop, but in a good way. I feel like I've experienced a complete 180 from last semester only two weeks. Upon getting back, I was thrust right into sorority recruitment, with two practices last week then basically living at the GSU Friday through Tuesday. The entire process was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. We all bonded while decorating our rooms, tore our throats apart cheering (I AM A G...!), got good at sneaking food through, and found some amazing girls for our Alpha Lambda class. We lost a few good girls to other sororities, but it was bound to happen. My rush crush made it through, and I have basically seen her every day this week. I got excellent at small talk and all that good stuff as well.
This weekend, we had a little bit of a crazy party on Friday night, where I awkwardly ran into some people, finally got to hang out with my big, and played a fun game of flip cup. Saturday, I got to get out of work early and take the best cab ride of my life with some Alpha Kappas to Pledge Crawl, which, despite some complications, ended up being really fun. Afterwards, I had some extremely cathartic conversations with the amazing girls in my sorority family (yay Starlets!) while drinking some delicious drinks. Today, we had a little Starlet/crescent sister brunch at a fun little crepe restaurant. Then we had chapter, which was a lot smoother than last semester, so snaps for that, and at chapter dinner, I talked to more of our wonderful new girls. They are all really amazing, which makes me proud of how well we did at recruitment.
In non-sorority news, my work schedule next month is going to kick ass, because I won't have to work weekends. I got to see Kate Burton and be really intimidated. My classes are all pretty great as well. I'm finally in my TV classes. Writing for TV is going to be amazing at the end, when we basically get to sit around for two weeks reading everyone's scripts for "Sex and the City" and "Seinfeld." My homework for that class this weekend was to watch the Soup Nazi episode. Amazing. Plus, I know half the people in those classes, and my Gamma Phi bud Abrah is in that class and my Producing class. Then I have history with my favorite professor from last semester, and Nutrition, which I am convinced is going to help me lose 10 pounds by guilting me into eating healthy. Horay.
In non-life related news, how great were the SAG awards? I was a little disappointed by some of the picks at the Globes last week, but everyone I wanted to win basically won at the SAGs. Horay for "The Office," "Grey's," "Little Miss Sunshine," Chandra Wilson (Double yay for her!!), and basically everything. Those actors know how to pick 'em. That's about it!
