This week has gone by very fast. There wasn't much to write about during the first part of the week because all I did each day was go to class, eat, and search on line for plane tickets for fall break. I started to get a little frustrated to tell you the truth because I've already gotten accostumed to constantly seeing and doing new things. I have now resolved to ensure that I experience something new everyday that I'm here. (Which, less face it, isn't very hard to do.) Back at SOU, I often fall into a routine, but I refuse to let myself do that here when so many opportunites and cultural experiences await.
It's amazing how fast one can get used to their surroundings even when they are as magnificent as the town of Segovia. As I left the school this evening I made myself stop to take in the way the dusk sunshine was gilding the stone of the church in front of me. It was picturesque in the way that one always reads about. Appreciating the beauty in everything around you may sound cliche, but such an outlook can raise one's spirits a shake you out of the doldrums that are so easy to fall into.
The best part of this week so far has been my evenings out with friends. Are group is slowly diversifying. The daughter of our salsa instructor has now started hanging out with us, as well as two Belgium students who are studying at the University here.
This weekend I am going to Valencia, so I won't be on the computer for a few days. I shall update when I return and tell you all about my first time swimming in the Mediterranean.
