Mal suerte

Ok, the last few days have been absolutely crazy. I have a ton that I would like to write about, but I need to get to sleep, so I'll just leave an abbreviated update right now so you all know that I'm still alive.

Friday
*Class excursion to the Catedral de Segovia and el Alcazar (the castle). I like the cathedral but it had a heavy, gloomy atmosphere as a result of its gothic design and ornamentation. El Alcazar was wonderful with a great view of the city from the top (Although our legs were all sore for the next couple of days from all of the stairs leading up the tower.
*Traveled to Valencia: Arrived at 12:30 at night in the middle of a crazy rain storm. The streets and metros were flooded and we had to huddle beneath the few umbrellas we had. We had no reservations and no idea where we were. Slogged through the storm to three different hotels until we found accomadations (four girls per room using two small beds)
*Was sick almost all night cuz my body wanted to expel every ounce of nutrient in it.

Saturday
*Felt somewhat ill all day as we explored the Museum of Arts and Sciences. Those museums had amazing architecture and cool science exhibits. Also watched imax on the titanic and went to an exhibit about the Titanic
*Went to ATM for much need cash and my card didn't work. I had to bum money off the rest of my companions to eat and get back home

Sunday
!!!!!!Swam in the Mediterranean!!!!! We got to the beach during the only part of the weekend that wasn't rainy. Took pictures, gathered shells and sea glass (yes, I even do that on the other side of the world), and built a sand castle (because that is a beach going requirement)
*Took pictures of a beautiful cathedral
( As I stood outside the cathedral, the bells began to toll. The sound caused a flock of black and white pigeons to take flight around me. At this moment, while standing in a plaza surrounded with the sound of wings, bells, and a bubbling fountain I felt and knew simultaneoulsy that I was truly in Europe. Those are the moments that I cherish.)
*During the bus ride home I was very sick again. Those were some very unhappy hours as I drug myself between buses and metro stations.
* I got so sick during the night that my family made me go see the medic. I had to get a shot to help me stop vomitting (I'm sure you're getting a beautiful visual right now) I now have seen medical facilities both in Spain and Disneyland. You all wish you were as cool as me.

Today
*I am now better, although a little weak
*My credit card is now working thanks to the efforts of my family. (The bank thought that the plane tickets I purchased online were bought fraudulently. ARGG!)

Hopefully, I'll get to flesh out some of these experiences (especially the good ones), eventually, but my computer time is rapidly declining, so who knows if that will be possible.
I send my love to you all. *HUGS for one and all *
