... Way in the future. I think you like Charle more by then. Or at least tolerate her.

Future? What nonsense are you talking about? How could that even be possible?

As for Charle, I'm only tolerating her because she has formed an alliance with the Emperor.

It's... kind of difficult to explain. I can try, but I'm no good at it, and anyway even if I did it right I might screw up the timeline. There's this... thing, it lets people communicate between different worlds, and sometimes it does weird things to time.

As for what I am, I'm human. It's just that all humans on my world have ears like these.

Yeah, I know, I know. But honestly, you're saying this as somebody who rides around on a dragon and has magic transforming armor.

To be honest, they're both true. It's been... a long time since where you are now. A lot's changed. Though to be honest, if it was me I probably wouldn't have mentioned it. There's pretty much no way showing up and saying "Hi, we're dating in the future" is going to end well.

... I think it was a thousand years. Might've been ten thousand. You don't talk about it a lot; I didn't really find out in the best circumstances.

There are... special circumstances, I think. I don't know the details, we don't have a lot to do with magic on my world. I think Charle was involved, but all I know beyond that is that there was... well, I'm assuming there was a good reason, because I don't think she'd have done it just for the hell of it.

[And now he's lying, because he does know why it happened, but a lot of what she's told him or he inadvertently found out about Rose's time as the Black Monster really isn't something she should know ahead of time. He's never actually seen her in full Dragoon of Darkness mode apart from his occasional time in the Hall of Warriors, and doesn't really want to.]

I highly doubt that I would ever let that woman make me immortal even if I wanted it. With her, there is bound to be some kind of price that I don't want to pay.
